Meads sits at the western end of Eastbourne, below the Downs towards Beachy Head. Its large Victorian and Edwardian houses, mature gardens and flint walls make it one of the town's most distinctive areas, and much of it is a conservation area.
Fencing in Meads
- Gardens here catch the wind from the sea and the Downs, so closeboard with concrete posts is a common choice
- Post holes often hit chalk and flint, which can add time to a job
- Before replacing an old front wall or boundary, check the conservation area rules
